Terms of Use

Last Updated:

Effective:
December 1, 2018

Welcome to Scripto

By using Scripto, you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you don’t agree, you won’t be able to use the app—it’s that simple. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Scripto, so please read them carefully.

Your License to Use Scripto

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to use Scripto as intended. Here’s what you can’t do:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, or reproduce any part of Scripto without written permission.
  • Use Scripto for commercial purposes outside its intended services.
  • Decompile, reverse-engineer, modify, or interfere with Scripto’s source code or security features.
  • Remove copyright or proprietary notices.
  • Circumvent security measures.

Violating these terms automatically terminates your license to use Scripto. We also reserve the right to revoke access at our discretion.

Your Responsibilities

  • Your account, your responsibility. Anything that happens under your account is on you.
  • You own your scripts. Scripto doesn’t claim ownership of your work—you retain all rights. However, if you collaborate with others or work under agreements with production companies or studios, their terms may also apply. Scripto is not responsible for third-party agreements.
  • We need a limited license to store and process your scripts. This allows us to provide features like backups and collaboration.
  • Respect copyrights. Only upload content you have the legal right to use.
  • Protect your login. Keep your credentials secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately.
  • We may remove content if required by law. While we don’t actively monitor user content, we may take action if something violates legal requirements.

GDPR & Your Privacy Rights

If you’re in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:

  • Accessing, correcting, or deleting your personal data.
  • Restricting or objecting to data processing.
  • Data portability.
  • Withdrawing consent when processing is based on consent.
  • Lodging a complaint with a data protection authority.

We process personal data based on:

  • Contractual necessity (to provide and maintain Scripto).
  • Legitimate interests (to improve the app and ensure security).
  • Legal obligations (to comply with regulations).

For privacy inquiries, contact support@scripto.live.

No Guarantees

Scripto is provided “as is” and “as available.” We can’t promise it will be:

  • Error-free or bug-free.
  • Uninterrupted or always secure.
  • Perfectly suited for every purpose.

We strive for reliability and implement industry-standard security measures, but software isn’t flawless.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scripto and its suppliers are not responsible for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
  • Loss of data, profits, or business interruptions.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

Accuracy Disclaimer

We aim for accuracy, but Scripto may contain technical, typographical, or photographic errors. We may update content or features at any time without notice.

Third-Party Links

Scripto may link to third-party sites. We don’t endorse or control their content and aren’t responsible for anything that happens when you visit them.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. If you continue using Scripto after an update, you accept the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of California. Any disputes will be handled in California courts.
